Inspired by the Kooks, the Strokes, and Kings of Leon, Le Strisce began building an audience after uploading two singles, "Marta" and "Revolver," to MySpace. By 2008, the Italian rock band had earned enough online buzz to warrant a record contract from Capitol/EMI. An EP appeared later that year, and Le Strisce -- comprised of Naples residents Davide Petrella, Enrico Pizzuti, Francesco Caruso, Andrea Pasqualini, and Raffaele Papa -- returned in 2010 with their full-length debut, Torna Ricco e Famoso.
