The Rio de Janeiro-based quartet of Stellar got together in 1994 under the original line-up of FáROCK (guitar/vocals), Cadu (percussion), Beatriz (guitars/vocals) and Leandro (guitars). Resulting in a style of pop with dual male-female vocals, melodic indie rock tendencies, jazz percussion, and ambient undertones, the band would eventually self-release several demos before signing to Midsummer Madness in 1998. Sol (guitars and production) and Regis (bass) replaced the departed Cadu and FaROCK in 1999 before Stellar's debut full-length Ultramar was released that same year. ~ Mike DaRonco
