Danish vocalist Hugo Helmig is an ebullient performer with a sound that touches upon acoustic balladry, anthemic pop, and electronic dance music. He first emerged in 2017 with hit "Please Don't Lie."
Born Hugo Helmig Toft Simonsen in Aarhus, Denmark in 1998, Helmig grew up in a creative family as the son of Danish pop vocalist Thomas Helmig and fashion model Renée Simonsen. Interested in performing from a young age, by his teens he was playing guitar and piano. In 2017, he released his debut single "Please Don't Lie," which went platinum and landed at number 20 on the Danish pop charts. A second single, "Wild," followed a year later. In 2019, he issued his debut album Juvenile, which featured his previously released singles plus the song "Young Like This." ~ Matt Collar
