The Gazebo Incident

It's a very long way to wherever
When you're walking on your own
Seems to take forever
With no credit on your phone

It started out fun and games, your parents had a barbecue
Just a hooch and then a beer, a glass of wine turned into two
Your Dad, I think he raised an eyebrow yeah but what does he know?
As I filled another glass up under your gazebo

And I can't quite remember
Exactly what I said

but now i'm walking on my own
Can't tell you where I am
Wish I had 10p for the phone
Cos my credit's gone again
And now i'm walking on my own
I promise not to drink like that again
Cos it's a long way home

You mingled in, I didn't try, oh how the hours flew by
3 Rum and cokes, I told some jokes, I think I made your sister cry
But it's your mum who felt the worst - she thought I walked on water
Then your Dad just kicked me out said, son, you're out of order

I don't quite remember
Exactly what I said
