The Man Without a Head

Well a friend of a friend of mine once said
He'd met a man without a head
Living as a shadow of a shadow
An empty void whose life was shallow

For this man a question did persist
Without a head did he exist?
Could not connect to those few around
Tried to speak with no mouth or sound

Had no eyes yet he could see
Joy replaced by misery
Into a mirror he'd stop and stare
See a man who wasn't there

Throughout libraries you can look
But it's not found within a book
It's only heard, not seen or read
The tale of the man without a head
