The Streets Are Still Burning

Fields are like tinder, it's been dry here for years
The last time it rained here, was too long ago to remember
And that light in the east, where the night sky was glowing
That we thought was the sunrise, there was no way of knowing

The streets still burning, turning night time into day
We stand around helpless as we stare into the blaze

The rivers run dry, there's no water for the flames
And there's nothing we have here, that can cool this infernal
So we look to the west and we pray for salvation
While the blood of our nation, slowly slips, falls to the ground

The streets still burning, turning night time into day
We stand around helpless as we stare into the blaze

Flames twisting and turning, melting without a sound
Still we stand and do nothing, as the blood we love flows to the ground

Walk through world that I know, like smoke that's still drifting, I can see with my eyes wide open

The streets are still burning, turning night time into days
We stand around helpless as we stare into the blaze

Flames twisting and turning, melting without a sound
Still we stand and do nothing, as the blood we love flows to the ground
Flows to the ground (Streets are still burning)
(Twisting and twisting and turning)
(Twisting and twisting and turning)
