Fossil Fuels and Friends
Well Brian moved down to Virginia
He doesn't quite seem overjoyed
They got lots of right-wingers
And no punk rock singers
At least he can say he's employed
His job's engineering equipment
To help miners pull coal from the ground
But if we got our power
From sun, air, and water
Well maybe then Brian could move back to town
I hang out with minors myself here
I don't have any friends old as me
We still go to shows
But I'm lonely at those
Where security asks for ID
Well I know that Detroit has no jobs now
Since the big auto makers went down
Yeah, but soon Michigan'll
Create solar panels
And maybe then Brian could move back to town
It's a 9-hour drive to Blacksburg
Though I can't claim to know that first hand
Well I'd sure like to go there
Perhaps play a show there
But I doubt the folks there would enjoy my band
