In a Stormy Season

Livin' in a stormy season
Everywhere you look's a cloud
It's times like these that test a man
When the hard rain's coming down
You do the things you have to
And try not to complain
When it's early in the morning
But so late in the game
It's a stormy season

There's always one more lesson to be learned
When you got no choice, you take your turn

The old man he goes wandering
To rummage through the night
Searchin' for the memories
That he can't seem to find
When everyone's a stranger
You're no one in his eyes
In the end it's only love
We always recognize
In a stormy season

Rain, rain go away
Sure could use some sun today

It comes from out of nowhere
To interrupt your plans
And you find yourself with questions
For what you can't understand
Wakin' in a nightmare
That fell into your hands
When you ain't got no answers
Find God in the circumstance
It's a stormy season

There's always one more lesson to be learned (to be learned)
You got no choice, take your turn

You meet that cross-eyed nomad
Somewhere on the road
And he takes you someplace scary
That you don't want to go
Then courage is the virtue
Will you find it in your soul
When there's no way of escaping
And you've got no control?
In a stormy season

Rain, rain go away
Sure could use some sun today

Living in a stormy season
Everywhere you look's a cloud
It's times like these that test a man
When the hard rain's coming down
It's a stormy season
It's a stormy season

You don't understand if you don't understand
If you don't understand
Find God in the circumstance
God in the circumstance
It's a stormy season
