Let Me Burn

The present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire
They are being kept for the day of judgement
When ungodly men will be destroyed
2 Peter 3:7

I came to visit once a week
I was bored out of my mind
Stained-glassed faces stared at me
For my salvation, no one could find

They always talked about the man
Who raised the dead and healed the sick
I can't say I was a fan
'Cause this god, is a heartless prick

Why should I just sit and cry
As you look down on me?
And you, you just fly on your cloud
Looking down on me
Can't you feel?

As a little boy of only eight
I was forced to sing his song
God it good, god is "great"
I always knew something was wrong

Listen, his only son
To the innocent little lambs
I was the habit of the nuns
To lay leather, they laid it on my hands

Why should I just sit and cry
As you look down on me?
And you, you just fly on your cloud
Looking down on me
Can't you see?

Peace is what I feel
I don't need scriptures -this is real
I've forgiven myself for the wrongs I've dealt
If being good means going to hell, I will

Let me burn

Leviticus, you're flavour of the day. Oh well
Your words caused the church too much pain
'Cause they don't kill homosexuals
They just prevent them from being ordained

Let me burn

This day the lord will hand you over to me
And I'll strike you down and cut off your head
1 Samuel 17:46
