Salt water surrounded me all my life
From way back in time
I smelled the water with my throat dry
The ocean scraped by
Wish you could drown in it's illusion
On the ocean floor
The chance to have that thirst and never hide
'Cause they drank salt water
And it goes down through the bloodline

Couldn't tell the truth from the lie
To the sons and daughters
Were they left deaf, dumb and blind?
Do they drink salt water?
Do they down it like holy wine?
It's not surprising that it goes so
We cut off our nose
In a state of braggadocio
But if you think that's a joke
You might get caught up in that notion

But when you're desperate it's holy wine
