Sea Blues

Along I walk the shining beach
And watch the gulls at play
Where each gull brings its young to teach it
Flying every day

If I were a gull
My wings I'd spread
And fly across the sea
But it's better for if I were dead
For you'll have no more of me

Once there were three on these sloping sands
A romantic trinity
But now that you've left us for foreign lands
There's only the sea and me

Each day I've watched the water change
From blue to darkest gray
I lie beside the sea and cry
Because you've gone away

Once there were three on these sloping sands
A romantic trinity
But now that you've left us for foreign lands
There's only the sea and me

Each day I've watched the water change
From blue to darkest gray
I lie beside the sea and cry
Because you've gone away

I lie beside the sea and cry
Because you've gone away
