Total Massacre

I find myself wondering
How so many mediocre white men
Wind up in positions of power
But then we know the answer
Mediocrity spreads like a cancer

It was easier to pretend
The past had no bearing on the present
When there was enough to go around
And the ship hadn't yet run aground
We reap what we sow in the end

I guess I always felt it best
To always assume the worst
But I don't see how we get out of this one
Without a total massacre

I wish I was confident
That we would never again
Vote for a psychopathic, narcissistic
Idiot for president!
But fool me twice: won't get fooled again
