Walking the Dog

I got an aching head, the whiskey shakes
An empty bed that's self made
Bite marks tracking down my throbbing veins
A man's best friend who wants to do it all again
I spent all night searching for the break of dawn
Roaming the streets, walking the dog

I got moans and groans from my head to my toes
What happened last night nobody knows
Don't mind me I'm just the walking dead
I got silly voices in my head
I spent all night searching for the break of dawn
Howling at the moon, walking the dog

The sazerac whiskey gone straight to my head, my poor head
Last night started out feeling fine
Woke up this morning to the second line

I grab my guitar, my coat and hat
Try to find out where I'm at
Hitch me a ride as far as I can
To the next spot and do it over again
I spent all night searching for the break of dawn
Howling at the moon, walking the dog

I'm going to walk home
Bartender can I have another sazerac please
I don't want to go home just yet
Please don't make me go home
