About Juan Luis Guerra y 440
The multi-talented Juan Luis Guerra began the 1990s as the hottest property in the international Latin market with a fusion of pop, merengue, and bachata dubbed "World Latin Music." Guerra studied jazz guitar at Berklee College of Music but discovered he could attract more attention playing merengue. After joining Latin vocal group 4.40, Guerra provided the lead vocals for the successful album Ojala Que Llueva Cafe. He maintained momentum with smash hits such as "Burbujas de Amor" and "La Bilirrubina," from Bachata Rosa. Areito spawned seven hit singles and won three Latin Grammys. Guerra won Album of the Year at the 2015 Latin Grammy for Todo Tiene Su Hora.
