About Dawin
Dawin Polanco, known simply as Dawin, is a producer, songwriter, and vocalist who fuses EDM, R&B, and pop. A native of New York City's Brooklyn borough, Dawin was playing instruments at a young age and started to take music seriously as a teenager. He made a shrewd move through social media in January 2014, when he synchronized part of his lighthearted track "Just Girly Things" to a clip of Alfonso Ribeiro performing "the Carlton dance" and uploaded the result to Vine. Within a few months, Dawin was signed to the Republic-associated Casablanca label and released an official commercial version of "Just Girly Things." The single reached number 28 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. After he remixed Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's "Problem," "Dessert" followed in March 2015, peaked at number 39 on Dance/Electronic, and crossed into the Hot 100, where it reached number 68. A handful of additional singles led to the self-released 2017 album Errors. The standalone single "Flexible" arrived in 2019. ~ Andy Kellman
