Formed in 2017, Sierreña band Eslabon Armado is a trio featuring two brothers and a friend, who recorded their debut album live in a garage.
∙ The band got its name—which roughly translates to United Chain—from lead vocalist Pedro Tovar’s dad, who also encouraged the singer to start songwriting at age 10. ∙ Originally scheduled for a 2020 Valentine’s Day release, their debut album, Tu Veneno Mortal, was delayed due to the unexpected Top 20 success of the single “Con Tus Besos.” ∙ The video for their debut corrido, “Con Tus Besos,” racked up more than 125 million views in its first five months. ∙ Eslabon Armando had two hit releases in 2020: Vibras de Noche debuted on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart at No. 1 and Corta Venas landed at No. 2.
