About Joy Villa
Hard rock, acoustic pop, and dance music account for some of the stylistic ground covered by singer, songwriter, actor, producer, and health coach Joy Villa. A performer since early childhood, the Orange County, California native stepped out as a musician during the early 2010s with a handful of singles, a five-track EP titled I Make the Static, and a set of remixes, all of which were released independently. Villa gained more attention for her Grammy Awards fashion, most notably a pro-Donald Trump dress she wore to the 2017 ceremony. Though she had recently issued a live cover of Queen's "We Are the Champions," the years-old I Make the Static received a greater subsequent spike in interest and hit the Top 15 of the Billboard 200. ~ Andy Kellman
