Conducted by veteran vocal director Jason White, Sunday Service Choir is an American gospel group convened by rapper Kanye West for his public transition to born-again Christianity.
∙ The Los Angeles-based choir’s many musical collaborators have included noted producer/songwriter Ray Romulus, singer/rapper Ant Clemons, and R&B vocalist Tony Williams. ∙ They made their public debut with Kanye at the 2019 Coachella festival, in a performance featuring his tracks, gospel songs, and the new song “Water.” ∙ The choir was featured on Kanye’s gospel LP, JESUS IS KING, which topped the Billboard 200 and four other US albums charts in 2019. ∙ Released on Christmas Day 2019, their first LP, Jesus Is Born—featuring classic spirituals and sanctified takes on Kanye hits—debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart.
