Avenue of the Americas

The stars are all out tonight
But you won't see a single one in the electric light
And it's only a few more blocks
So I'll walk on the Avenue of the Americas

I had the thought when I was 10
I'd grow up and go to New York and be a singer then
There wasn't any back up plan
So here I am on the Avenue of the Americas

Don't let it be too late to dream
Don't let it go beyond my reach
Hope is here in this old concrete
I can feel it underneath my feet
Rising again in all of us on the Avenue of the Americas

I've done so much to stay afloat
The city's gonna make you pay then it will add a zero
But it'll run right into your veins and be your home
Where you lose and where are you love

Don't let it be too late to dream
Don't let it go beyond my reach
Hope is here in this old concrete
I can feel it underneath my feet
Rising again in all of us on the Avenue of the Americas

Don't give up yet
I can hear it with each step

Maybe this will be my year
They've been saying that for as long as I've lived here
Just wait till people hear you sing!
But are we listening on the Avenue of the Americas?
