Midline

All my leaves are falling off
Callus heart becoming soft
Every little means a lot
All my branches start to rot
From the drive I haven't got
All these plans that I forgot
All my roots have grown too deep
An unmoving, guilty sleep
Wilting love I still keep
All my bark begins to malt
Midst the soil and the salt
Can't deny it's all my fault

I still walk the midline
Tell myself It's alright
I just need a bit more time
Still I walk the midline

Is it ok if I don't know
Who I am or where to go?
Plastic smiles just for show
Is this how it always ends?
Quixotic dreams and weekend friends
Wait around until it mends

I still walk the midline
Tell myself It's alright
I just need a bit more time
Still I walk the midline
