He was a child
(Raimon)
He was a child, awake and open to the world,
the man who today finds himself empty and lost:
friends and loves lived intensely
have slowly made him as he is now.
And he goes alone, and he goes alone, all alone.
He has searched and has not found,
he has fought and has not won,
he has believed, they have tricked him,
he has studied and doesn't know,
he thinks he doesn't know.
Like a memory of words that he has never said,
with vacant eyes that looking are unaware,
like an old yellowing paper, that has been read,
he sees all his past in front of him.
And he goes alone, and he goes alone, all alone.
He has searched and has not found,
he has fought and has not won,
he has believed, they have tricked him,
he has studied and doesn't know,
he thinks he doesn't know.
He was a child, awake and open to the world,
the man who today walks sad and forgotten.
the man who today finds himself empty and lost:
friends and loves lived intensely
have slowly made him as he is now.
And he goes alone, and he goes alone, all alone.
He has searched and has not found,
he has fought and has not won,
he has believed, they have tricked him,
he has studied and doesn't know,
he thinks he doesn't know.
Like a memory of words that he has never said,
with vacant eyes that looking are unaware,
like an old yellowing paper, that has been read,
he sees all his past in front of him.
And he goes alone, and he goes alone, all alone.
He has searched and has not found,
he has fought and has not won,
he has believed, they have tricked him,
he has studied and doesn't know,
he thinks he doesn't know.
He was a child, awake and open to the world,
the man who today walks sad and forgotten.
